The kind of furniture and the kind of drama you intend to impel will determine the right light fixture. Nowadays, most rooms are filled with contemporary decorative items that deserve to have the same lighting approach. Again the key factor here is being consistent with your theme.
The size of your room will also dictate on how much light you need. Of course a more spacious room requires more light and vice-versa. However, whether to have a dim affect or to have bright lights depends on your preference. But as a tip, it is important that the lighting in your room is flexible. Admittedly there are instances wherein more lights are required in your room - like when eating your meal. That is why I suggest installing a handy dimmer on most of your light fixtures. Please make sure to seek professional help when installing those dimmer to ensure safety.
Another dramatic way to add light fixture is to showcase an expensive decorative item or probably a favorite piece of yours. To achieve this you need to install pin light directly on top - having that spotlight effect. Purchasing chandeliers are expensive but there is a reason for such pricey tags. Chandelier by itself is already a knock-out décor piece while it illuminates a vast part of your space.
Also keep in mind that the color of your light fixture is also crucial. If you prefer color fixture like tan, off-white or even bolder colors like red or blue - the room will have a slight tint to it; making the room more inviting and cozier.
Surely light fixtures do wonders in our room when the right treatments are considered. You can even be playful and original by choosing fixtures that are fruit or animal inspired. No matter what your preference is, there is always a light at the end of every tunnel.
